Do not hesitage to give us a call. We are an expert team and we are happy to talk to you.
At Morocco Tailor Made Travel, each trip is unique and created according to your wishes: cultural, sporting, culinary activities ... We offer tailor-made tours, off the beaten track, where meeting and sharing are the priority. Our local expert will be at your disposal to personalize your trip and immerse you in Moroccan culture. This guide will give you some practical information on the progress of our trips to Morocco.
Your welcome will be different depending on the formula you have chosen. If your tour takes place with a guide, it is the guide who welcomes you at the airport with a sign with your name. Likewise, if you have used the services of a driver, he will come and pick you up with the vehicle at the airport.
If you have opted for a self-drive tour, a Morocco Tailor Made Travel representative will welcome you and give you a travel log. You will find all the information necessary for the smooth running of your tour: itinerary, road map, accommodation, contact details, etc.
Regarding currency, the exchange rate is the same everywhere. However, we must plan to make the change as soon as you arrive at the airport so that we have some cash, just in case, to fill up with gasoline for example. Otherwise, distributors are everywhere.
We can offer you to travel in self-drive formula, so you travel alone, with a very complete and tailor-made logbook, according to your preferences. You have total freedom: you can stop in the places of your choice, as you wish. Your rental vehicle will be returned to you either at the airport or at your hotel. If you wish, it is possible to arrange a local guide for certain visits.
Regarding driving in Morocco, be aware that the highway code is the same, and you just need to have your license. In general, the condition of the roads and signs is correct, however, beware of speed limits that are not always respected.
It is also possible to opt for the formula with a driver only. He will take you from one stopover to another, and will have all the vouchers (vouchers) in his possession to allow you to enter the places you are visiting.
Finally, we propose to travel to Morocco with a driver and a guide. This formula will allow you to live your trip without worrying about the road and benefiting from the best advice. Your guide will share with you his knowledge of the country, its customs and traditions, as well as its history, which he can pass on to you as you travel. He will also be your intermediary with the local population, acting as a translator. You will benefit from full support.
On the vehicle side, it can vary but most of the time it will be of the 4x4 type, suitable for winding roads. We can offer you Dacia Logan, or Duster. They are air conditioned and you can request a GPS if you wish.
For a complete tour of Morocco, which will include the imperial cities, the desert, but also the seaside, 15 days will be necessary. We can offer you several circuits, each of them being targeted on a region for a real immersion ...
Impossible to miss Marrakech and its unique atmosphere. You will discover the Koutoubia mosque, the Majorelle garden, the Bahia Palace but also the bustling medina of life. You will also have the opportunity to visit the souks of Morocco and do various activities, such as a cooking class or learn to do calligraphy.
In the South, each day offers you different landscapes! Oases and palm groves in Tafraoute and Tata, but also the mountain with the pink granites of the Anti-Atlas, fortified villages or even canyons ... For the more athletic, a hike or a trek in the Moroccan Atlas will leave you a lasting memory.
It is also possible to offer you extensions, especially in the Moroccan desert for a few nights. You will leave in 4x4 on tracks to reach the desert. You can sleep in a Kasbah at the foot of the dunes of Merzouga or in a camp, which will be accessed by camel. To fully enjoy it, why not take a quad bike ride?
To discover the magic of the imperial cities it will take 8 days. Marrakech, Fez, artistic and intellectual capital, via Meknes, an essential stopover and finally Rabat, the capital of the Kingdom.
You will also have the possibility to relax on the seaside in Essaouira if you wish. The city is known for thalassotherapy treatments, which you can experience to relax at the end of your stay.
For the magic to work, we select traditional Moroccan accommodation. You will sleep in Riads in particular. There are several categories and styles, ranging from classic comfort to luxury. All are organized around a central patio with plants and a pond, all with traditional decoration.
Depending on the regions visited, you will also have the opportunity to sleep in kasbahs, a building of Berber origin, for an extraordinary experience. These are intimate, family structures where the rooms are arranged upstairs around a central skylight. We favor local accommodations, which we know and are used to working with. In this way, we are sure of their quality of service, of cleanliness and of the warm welcome that will be reserved for you.
Finally, it is possible to sleep in a guest house. This solution will allow you to know how to organize the interior of a traditional house, to see what the daily life of Moroccans is, but also to share authentic moments.
In Morocco, you will find a wide choice of structures, especially in large cities, ranging from small traditional restaurants to international restaurants. We generally offer half-board tours, in order to give you more freedom.
Local products are worth the detour: pomegranates, figs, oranges, dates, or simply bread baked in small grocery stores. You will have the opportunity to taste classics of Moroccan cuisine: couscous with beans or tagines. This last dish owes its name to the lid of the dish where the tagine will simmer. It could be lamb with dates, or prunes and almonds, chicken ... You just have to taste!
For a traditional lunch in a local structure, it takes between 5 and 10 euros per person, then around 15 euros in an international restaurant. Also note that you can eat in the Riads where you sleep.
The time of the meal is also the occasion to spend a convivial moment, at the end of the day the mythical place Djemaa-El-Fna in Marrakech wakes up: musicians, jugglers, monkeys ... Take the time to soak up the atmosphere and taste a traditional dish. In Essaouira, let yourself be tempted in the medina by small fish restaurants, where you buy the fish you want to eat yourself.
Regarding drinks, do not leave without tasting the famous mint tea! It is obviously very widespread, as are fresh fruit juices, also to be tasted at least once. On the other hand, tap water is not drinkable, plan to buy it regularly during your trip. You will find large bottles for pennies. For trekkers, do not forget to take water purifying tablets.
At Morocco Tailor Made Travel we accompany you before and during your trip. No matter what package you choose for your trip, you will have an emergency number that can be reached 24/7. Likewise, at the start of your trip your travel diary will be given to you and will contain all the necessary contact details. In the case of a guided tour, your guide will be there to help you if you encounter any difficulty.
If you wish, sim cards with a Moroccan number are available free of charge at the airport. They are adaptable to different phone models, and you simply have to recharge them to be able to use them.
